Because of the growing number of users on mobile, web design will continue to favour designs suitable for both desktops and smart phones.
Designs that allow users to scroll down and find the information they need will continue to be more effective that designs that require users to click link after link to reach their destination.

2. Ghost Buttons
Ghost buttons are plain, rectangular buttons with text in the centre, a bold border, and a transparent or white background. They have become so popular that there is actually a whole Tumblr website devoted to ghost buttons.
They’re minimal yet stylish, which makes them a versatile button style to use. Google Nexus and The New York Times are just a few examples of websites where ghost buttons are used.
3. Large, High-Quality Backgrounds

This trend is great for websites who want to keep everything else – such as typography and overall website structure – simple, while still creating a powerful experience for the user.
4. Micro Goals
Micro-Goals are contained web experiences or, Conversions, that revolve around a single action. For example, every time you set your alarm, pick a password, or encounter an e-mail newsletter sign-up form, you’re experiencing a micr-goals.
